The Blessing (online only)
Tonight we're moving forward together. We're examining the reality that we're called to rest in the blessing God provides and become a conduit of that blessing to pass onto others. Our following of Jesus begins with a resting upon Him finding us first. The Blessing is a theme and promise we see all throughout the Scriptures. One we're invited to lean into.

As we navigate a new season as a church and in our journey together. We’re asking for God’s guidance, protection and His blessing…upon us as leaders and upon us as His church family. We want to follow Jesus and in doing so, that begins FROM a posture of: REST not Effort……
It’s resting in the favor and blessing of God that He provides.
It’s resting in the favor and blessing of God that He provides.
-We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19)
-We have a Good Shepherd that calls us to rest first, then following- (Psalm 23)
-That’s the premise of GRACE of JESUS; we receive his grace in faith, not in response to our effort.
-We are sought out, because God longs to connect with us; not because we sought him first (we all like sheep have gone our own way; Isaiah 53:6)
-Jesus came on a search and rescue mission for us; 'God demonstrated his own love for us in this: even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' Romans 5:8
It’s God’s INITIATIVE THAT IS OUR HOPE…His initiative is NOT dependent upon mine or yours.

In the Bible there are several words that are translated in English as “blessing”. There are 10 Hebrew words in the Old Testament and another 11 Greek words in the New Testament that are all translated as “bless” or “blessing”.
The Hebrew word used here in Numbers 6 is “barek”. It is used more than 200 times in the Bible.

Again, we must understand that these words are more than mere words – they are words that the LORD gave to the Sons of Aaron the first priests to say to the people – words that would bring about God’s protection, favor, love, approval and peace.
And now since we who are followers of Jesus our Savior and LORD are a kingdom of priests (priesthood of all believers) we now have the power and the wonderful privilege to bless others.

We’re to receive the BLESSING of God (in all his goodness to us) and then become a CONDUIT OF HIS BLESSING to those around us.
We’re blessed to be a blessing!
We’re blessed to be a blessing!
We may yet to be back gathering in person on a Sunday – but we’re scattered around our community to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our everyday.
=the church is NOT closed. We’ve been dispersed – we’re scattered to BE THE CHURCH now maybe more than ever.
What if we lived resting in God’s blessing – seeking to be conduit of it to others?
See a need, Meet a need.
