The Old Testament use of Mighty is mostly for men.

For God it is only used 4 times. With some verses bringing comparisons: Zephaniah 3:17

Psalm 24:8

Psalm 78:65

Job 16:14

Nehemiah 9:32

The Old Testament use of the word has the idea of those who are proven.

Warriors, champions, heroes…they have all proven ability

As far as the world is concerned, what has Jesus proven?

Teacher, Lamb, etc?

What did Jesus have to prove?

-Nothing to God but everything to us!

Has Jesus proven His strength and might?

At 2? 12? 30? 33? Afterlife?

A few Key Questions:

How did Jesus prove His might to you?

What are the proofs and promises that He fulfills as you learn in the scriptures?

How does the life of faith that you live prove His might to others?

How to respond to Him:

Dear Lord Jesus, I confess I have been living my life for what I get out of it rather than who I experience it with. I confess that my only hope is in You, Jesus, because You died for my sin, was buried and rose from the dead. Now I turn from my reliance on what I get and trust in You and follow you in relationship to glorify the Father. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen

12/10: 2 Timothy 2:1-2 Pray for your future pastor and his family to be strengthened by the grace of Jesus Christ. Pray that your future pastor will be a faithful disciple-maker.

12/11: James 1:5-8 Pray for the search committee to seek God's wisdom as they review resumes and prepare to contact potential pastoral candidates. Pray for church leaders to seek God's wisdom in the interim period.

12/12: Colossians 1:9-12Pray for your future pastor and his family to be certain that it is God's will to transition to a new field of ministry. Pray the Father will be glorified in the pastor search process.

12/13: Acts 2:41-42 Pray for FBCZ to reflect the six elements of a healthy church both in the interim period and when the new pastor is called serve. (worship, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, evangelism, and prayer)

12/14: Revelation 3:1-6 Pray for FBCZ to be filled with life through the Holy Spirit. Pray for FBCZ to be strengthened to carry out the vision God has for her.

12/15: John 13:34-35 Pray for the search committee and FBCZ to be obedient to Christ's command to love one another. Pray FBCZ's Christ-like love will be seen by the world.

12/16: Ephesians 3:20-21 Pray the power of Christ would be known in and through FBCZ and that all glory would be given to Him throughout the pastor search process.

12/17: Psalm 51:10-12 Pray for each member of the search committee to stay close to the Lord through hearts that are continually cleansed by Him. Pray for your next pastor to keep a cleansed heart before the Lord.
