Why in the World?
Join on of our Sunday Morning Community Groups as they take a closer look at one of the unique things Christians believe: God became one of us. Why in the world would God do that? Why would God leave the comfort and recognition of heaven to live on this ball of dirt in a time before morphine and indoor plumbing when the best of conditions barely paralleled the worst of modern-day conditions? Why? We think we know why He died. But what compelled him to live as one of us? This new study starts Sunday, November 12 and meets for four weeks. Sign up on your connection card and let us know which service (9:45am or 11:15am) you would like to attend this new study.

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Challenge
Come on River Church, join the challenge! Newport Aquarium is awarding complimentary tickets to churches that complete the OCC Shoebox Challenge. Our goal this year is to collect 100 boxes. The more shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items our church packs for children in need, the more Newport Aquarium tickets we can earn. Through this Samaritan's Purse project, we can be part of working with churches worldwide to transform entire families and communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! For more information see Tami at the RiverBank Kids check-in station. Collection dates for shoeboxes are November 13-20.

Parents will need to register children ahead of time. We will play games, eat pizza, make gingerbread houses, and watch a Christmas movie. Can We Pray for You?
We have an email network of people who are committed to pray for you wether it’s big or small. Email your prayer request to prayer@HitTheRiver.com.
The Impact of Prayer
You have a direct impact on the lives of others through prayer. By joining the prayer chain you will be able to help others who are in need that may or may not have someone in their life to pray for them.
When you join the prayernet, you will receive emails with requests for prayer. At this time we average two requests per week. All you need to do is pray for that person in your own personal way. “And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:15.” If you would like to join, please email prayer@HitTheRiver.com and let us know you are interested in joining.
Angels Among Us
There are times in life when we can be in a situation where a meal would be a blessing, such as after giving birth or when dealing with a medical situation. Through our Angels Among Us ministry, you can help people within our church by bringing them a meal. To join, send an email to info@HitTheRiver.com letting us know you’d like to be part of this ministry. When a need arises, you will receive an email asking if you can sign up to bring a meal. If you are in a situation where you could be blessed by a meal, please email us at info@HitTheRiver.com.
Deacon Team
The Elders and Deacons are recommending Terry Daviaux and Melisa Bock to become new Deacons. Per our constitution we are presenting their names to you for 30 days (10/8 - 11/07). If you have any concerns about them serving in this capacity please write to: Elders@HitTheRiver.com.
