When Life is Unfair...Find Peace
Psalm 4:8
1. It drags us deeper into ourselves
2. It gives us a sense of our limitations
3. It shatters the illusion of self-mastery
4. It teaches us gratitude
5. Sweeps us into a larger providence where “suffering becomes a fearful gift”
A peaceful internal world will overcome a chaotic external world
Psalm 4:8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
Every person who has dealt with unfairness in a healthy way has come to some level of peace
Psalm 4:8 for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
God offers us the peace we need to deal with the unfairness
John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation.
Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
