When we see someone we care about make bad decisions, we can either confront them about it or hope someone else does. But we should ask ourselves: are we really being kind, or are we letting fear, discomfort, or indifference be the boss of us?
In order to be for other people what Jesus actually calls and commands us to be, we have to recognize fear for what it is, discomfort for what it is, our fear of engaging in things that are uncomfortable for what it is.
When you confront somebody because there's something going on in their life where they're hurting themselves, the assumption is that they see the world the way you do.
Jesus said, “I'm just giving you one command, just one. You are to love others as I have loved you." And that's all this is. This is simply doing for others what God through Christ has done for us.
God sent His Son into the world to die for your sins knowing you may not choose to receive the gift. God sent His Son into this world to pay for your sins, and He announced forgiveness ahead of time.
