River 101
Interested in learning more about The River Church? Pastor Brad will be teaching our River 101 class on Wednesday, October 11 from 6:15pm-8:30pm. Guy’s Campout
Guys and sons (school-aged boys and older are suggested) are invited to a free overnight tent camping trip (no trailers) on a primitive camping area in Hamilton Ohio, less than 1 hour from the River Church. On Friday, October 13 set up starts at 4:00pm and tear down concluded by 12:00pm on Saturday, October 14.
The purpose of this overnight trip is to disconnect briefly from everyday life, connect with other men who love Jesus, and experience His presence through His wonderful creation. Activities include a night hike, camp fire worship, smores, brief devotional, grunting as well as other activities too macho for the church bulletin.
You will need to provide your own camping gear, food for dinner & breakfast, and all other supplies you feel you need to brave the elements (tent camping only). Firewood, s'mores, and water will be provided. You can sign up online at https://hittheriver.com/events/guys-campout-2017 or if you have any questions, contact Carvey Wright at 304-604-3101 or carveyw@hotmail.com.
RiverBank Kids Pumpkin Glow
Be a light for Jesus this October. Join River Church families for a Pumpkin Glow from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Sunday, October 15. Experience a glow-in-the-dark family worship time, followed by a friendly pumpkin-carving contest, and snacks. Bring one pumpkin for your family, your favorite carving tools (the church will have a few extra carving supplies on hand if you don't have any), and don't forget your unique (non-scary) carving ideas. We will have a glowing good time!
Play The Man
Somewhere along the way, our culture lost its definition of manhood, leaving generations of men and men-to-be confused about their roles, responsibilities, relationships, and the reason God made them men. Join us on Saturday, October 21 at high noon to listen to Mark Batterson talk about how we can navigate this “no-man’s-land” and learn to play the man. Sign up on https://hittheriver.com/events/play-the-man.
1st Annual River Barn Bash
The River Church will be going to the Niederman Family Farm for a fun evening of connecting and letting the kids play. We have the barn reserved for our church so we can eat (dinner & dessert provided starting at 5:30pm) and hang out together. It will be a great way to celebrate together all the good things God has done this past year.
We are selling discounted wristbands to get into the farm if you want to take your family to enjoy a hay ride, bon fire, corn maze, and all the other fun things the farm has to offer. The wrist bands are only $5 per person ($12 at the gate). Sign up at https://hittheriver.com/events/river-church-niederman-farm-102517.

Lunch Food Needed
The River Church will be supporting the Interfaith Hospitality ministry in Monroe on October 20th. Along with hosting dinner, our opportunity to serve includes providing lunch supplies like fresh fruit, chips and packaged desserts for the preceding week. The families in the program pack a lunch to take with them to work, school, or the Day Center. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, and should be brought to the church by Sunday, October 15th. A sign up sheet will be at the fireplace. We are also looking for more volunteers to help support the Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings we are serving at Monroe Church. Please contact Kaitlyn Hertzler at kaithertzler@gmail.com or (513) 616-6317 with any questions, or if you are interested in volunteering.
Can We Pray for You?
We have an email network of people who are committed to pray for you wether it’s big or small. Email your prayer request to prayer@HitTheRiver.com.
The Impact of Prayer
You have a direct impact on the lives of others through prayer. By joining the prayer chain you will be able to help others who are in need that may or may not have someone in their life to pray for them.
When you join the prayernet, you will receive emails with requests for prayer. At this time we average two requests per week. All you need to do is pray for that person in your own personal way. “And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:15.” If you would like to join, please email prayer@HitTheRiver.com and let us know you are interested in joining.
Angels Among Us
There are times in life when we can be in a situation where a meal would be a blessing, such as after giving birth or when dealing with a medical situation. Through our Angels Among Us ministry, you can help people within our church by bringing them a meal. To join, send an email to info@HitTheRiver.com letting us know you’d like to be part of this ministry. When a need arises, you will receive an email asking if you can sign up to bring a meal. If you are in a situation where you could be blessed by a meal, please email us at info@HitTheRiver.com.
