The Bible App - Don't Forget to Save Your Notes
Matthew 6:21 (NCV)
Your heart will be where your treasure is.
Your heart will be where your treasure is.
PJP Your money tends to flow toward those things that your heart gets excited about.
Principle #1: You can’t manage wealth until you produce it.
Principle #2: You can only be free if you plan to be free
Three reasons we need a Bible-Based plan:
1. We’re accountable to God for how we spend our money.
Romans 14:12 (KJV)
Every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
2. Our plan demonstrates our trust in God.
Matthew 6:32-33 (NCV)
The people who don't know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them. The thing you should want most is God's kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all these other things you need will be given to you.

3. Financial planning comes before leadership.
Luke 16:11 (NIV)
So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

God’s simple plan:
The first portion -- 10% -- goes to God.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Proverbs 3:9 (NCV)
Honor the LORD with your wealth and the firstfruits from all your crops.
Honor the LORD with your wealth and the firstfruits from all your crops.
Malachi 3:10 (NIV)
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse. “Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe.”

The second portion -- 10% -- goes to savings.
Proverbs 21:20 (LB)
The wise person saves for the future, But the foolish person spends all he gets.

The third portion -- 80% -- goes to everyone else.
Romans 13:7 (ICB)
Pay everyone, then, what you owe him. If you owe any kind of tax, pay it. Show respect and honor to them all.
