Divine Design: The Disciple's Pre-Mortem
A disciple of Jesus must take up his cross. What does that look like? Is it some abstract idea today that deals with motivation or are there life changing ramifications to the modern disciple?

The Cross of Loss: FAMILY
Family/Faith are the same in eastern cultures.
Context of statement: Jewish heritage
-What do Jewish families say when their members turn to Christ?
-How do most families from eastern cultures respond to loved ones turning to Jesus Christ?
--“How could you do this to us?”
--“You must hate us!” …choice interpreted as rejection and hatred…
The Disciple's Pre Mortem?
How to respond to Him:
Dear Lord Jesus, I confess I have been living my life between the tension of my family, my way and my wants. I confess that my only hope is in You, Jesus, because You died for my sin, was buried and rose from the dead. Now I turn from my reliance on my relationships and my personal wants and trust in You and take up my cross to live life that is only found in You. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen
