hey
We are approaching the end of our study through the book of First John. Take a moment to look back through this letter. What is your favorite truth in this book? What’s your favorite verse?
In Pastor Wade’s introduction, he demonstrated what it looks like to walk with and without confidence. Which of these two ways of walking do you normally do? Why do you think you do this?
hey
Pastor Wade spoke about the first two ways to walk confidently in God’s Light and Love. What two areas of our life did he say we should have confidence? Do you remember the other three areas that he plans to share about next Sunday?
Twice in this Sunday’s message, Pastor Wade referenced Romans 8. Take a few minutes and read all of Romans chapter 8. What is your favorite truth from the first half of this chapter? What’s your favorite verse?
Now, let’s focus our attention on the last portion of this chapter. According to verses 26-29, what are the functions of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer? (List as many as possible)

Verse 26 -

Verse 27 -

Verse 28 -

Verse 29 -

Reread Romans 8:30. What did Pastor Wade say this verse teaches about the security of the believer?
In Romans 8:33, Paul says that it is “God who justifies.” What does this mean? And why is it important?
Take a moment to read Romans 8:35-39 out loud. Don’t be afraid to pause frequently in order to think deeply about the truths in these verses. How does reading this make you feel? How will it change the way you live this week?
hey
How confident are you in the assurance of your salvation?

If you are struggling with doubts about your salvation, pray and ask God to help you to “know that you have eternal life.” If you continue to struggle with these concerns, please speak to one of our pastors about your concerns.
How confident are you in prayer?

It’s just like anything else you try to learn—at the beginning you lack confidence—but consistent prayer will give you confidence.

Will you commit to pray daily this week?
