GOOD, GOOD FATHER

Oh, and I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think You’re like,
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night.
And You tell me that You’re pleased and that I’m never alone.

You’re a good, good Father. It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are.
And I’m loved by You; It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am.

Oh, and I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide,
But I know we’re all searching for answers only You provide.
‘Cause You know just what we need before we say a word.

You’re a good, good Father. It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are.
And I’m loved by You; It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am.

You are perfect in all of Your ways. You are perfect in all of Your ways.
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us.
You are perfect in all of Your ways. You are perfect in all of Your ways.
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us.

Oh, it’s love so undeniable, I, I can hardly speak.
Peace so unexplainable, I, I can hardly think;
As You call me deeper still, as You call me deeper still,
As You call me deeper still, into love, love, love.

You’re a good, good Father. It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are.
And I’m loved by You; It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am.

ALL TO US

Precious Cornerstone, Sure foundation, You are faithful to the end.
We are waiting on You, Jesus; we believe You’re all to us.

Let the glory of Your name be the passion of the church.
Let the righteousness of God be a holy flame that burns.
Let the saving love of Christ be the measure of our lives.
We believe You’re all to us.

Only Son of God, sent for Heaven, hope and mercy at the cross.
You are everything, You’re the promise, Jesus, You are all to us.

Let the glory of Your name be the passion of the church.
Let the righteousness of God be a holy flame that burns.
Let the saving love of Christ be the measure of our lives.
We believe You’re all to us.

You’re all to us, You’re all to us.
You’re all to us, You are!
You’re all to us, You’re all to us.
You’re all to us, You are!

When this passing world is over, we will see You face to face;
And forever we will worship. Jesus, You are all to us.
Jesus, You are all to us!

IN CHRIST ALONE (MY HOPE IS FOUND)

In Christ Alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease;
My Comforter, my All in All;
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone who took on flesh;
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save;
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay;
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ!

No guilt in life, no fear in death;
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can every pluck me from His hand;
‘Til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

ENOUGH

All of You is more than enough for all of me,
For every thirst and every need.
You satisfy me with Your love;
And all I have in You is more than enough.

You are my supply, my breath of life;
Still more awesome than I know.
You are my reward worth living for;
Still more awesome than I know.

You’re my sacrifice of greatest price;
Still more awesome than I know.
You’re my coming King, You are everything;
Still more awesome than I know.

More than all I want, more than all I need,
You are more than enough for me.
More than all I know, more than all I can say;
You are more than enough.
You’re more than enough.
You’re more than enough.

GOD IS LOVE: EFFECTS OF AN ENCOUNTER WITH GOD'S LOVE
Introduction
hey
1. Because of the love of God, we have forgiveness of sin.
- God loves us and demonstrated His love by sending His Son into the world. (Matthew 9:1-7; Romans 5:8)
- As a result of God’s love, forgiveness of sin is offered to all mankind. (Romans 5:17-19)
- If the love of God has not moved me to love others, then I need to reconsider if I have been born of God and know God.
2. Because of the love of God, we abide in God and He in us.
- Once again in these verses, we see that love for one another is evidence of God’s love impacting our lives.

"Being Led and Transformed by the Holy Spirit" by Thomas Tarrants

“God knows that we are weak; He knows it far better than we do. And He has made a provision for it. That is precisely why He gave us the Holy Spirit! But … there is a big difference between the Spirit residing in us (which is true of all born again believers), and the Spirit reigning in us (which is true of only some). The Spirit is ready and willing and eager to reign in us, but His power is blocked until we surrender fully to God.”
https://www.cslewisinstitute.org/Being_Led_and_Transformed_by_the_Holy_Spirit_FullArticle
- Belief in Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the world is prerequisite to the Holy Spirit’s abiding in us.
hey
- We have the assurance of God's love and imprint on our lives because His Spirit is alive and abiding in us.
hey
3. Because we have the love of God, we have no fear of death.
- Commentator Jerry Vines wrote, “People approach their meeting with God with one of two attitudes…” anxiety or assurance.
- This fear of death is overcome when a believer faces the Day of Judgment with confidence—confidence garnered by the completed work of God’s love. (1 Peter 5:6-7)
- If a believer is afraid of death and judgment, it is because he has not yet matured in the love of God.
hey
4. Because of the love of God, we will love one another.
- What do we have because of the love of God?
Atonement for Sin in the Coming Judgment
Abiding Presence of the Holy Spirit Forever
Assurance of Eternal Life in Christ
- Considering all that we have in Him, why don’t we love God better?

SOFTLY AND TENDERLY

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me!

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.

Oh! For the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me;
Though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
