Visit our website to hear this message (and any older message that you might have missed). We typically post the latest one on Tuesday afternoons.
https://baycitygracechurch.org/sermon/Reflect: Have you spent much time in the book of Romans? If you have, what do you think it’s about? What do you imagine Paul is saying to the church in Rome?
Reflect: Often times, when we interpret Romans, we do so in parts, many times attempting to shore up our own theological positions and propositions. What happens when we try to interpret a book of the Bible apart from its context? Can it say one thing to one culture and another to another culture? Why or why not?
Reflect: Try to imagine that you are Phoebe, charged with not only couriering this book, but also interpreting and performing it for the five house churches in Rome that are experiencing deep divisions. What are some of the things that you are feeling?
Reflect: Why is factionalism and tribalism such deadly diseases for the church? What’s at stake when the church doesn’t look or live any differently than the world around them does?
Reflect: What’s one thing you can take away from the message this week and apply to your life?
Rest & Reflect: Days 6 & 7 are days of rest and reflection. Use these days to dig a bit deeper if you feel inspired.
