Recap: We wrapped up our series with Levi Lusko as we looked at the Psalms of Ascent. These songs were like a mix tape or playlist for a road trip. The Israelites would sing these songs on their pilgrimage to Jerusalem to give them focus on their journey. These same scripture songs can give us focus on our journey as well.
In Psalm 133 we learn that even though we are all unique, even though there can often times be chaos, that we are called to live with unity. That’s going to take humility, trust and tenacity, but if we will fight for unity it will make life enjoyable, it will bring God’s blessing in our life and the lives of those around us. That blessing will be more than we could have imagined and really leads to the full life that God wants for us. We’re better together.

Questions:
(1)What kind of chaos have you experienced during this season of pandemic? Chaos to your schedule, your routine, your finances, your hair??
(2)Levi talked about the need for humility, trust and tenacity in fighting for unity with others. Which one of those three do you most need to work on? Why?
(3)We live in a world where everyone has an opinion about everything. Even with a pandemic that none of us have ever experienced before. How can you walk, lead and communicate with humility in this environment?
(4)Read Psalm 133:1-3. In verse 1 it talks about how life is enjoyable when we live together in unity. Unity doesn’t mean uniformity. So, how can you have unity even if you don’t agree with the other person? Why is this difficult?
(5)In Psalm 133:2 it has this strange reference to oil on a beard of Aaron. The oil was “anointing oil” (which also created a beautiful fragrance), which means God’s blessing poured out on him. So, what does this mean for us when we live in unity? How can you help create a beautiful fragrance to the world around you?
(6)The dew of Hermon was known as being a very heavy dew. God’s blessing is not cheap, it’s like a downpour. Where have you experienced His blessing when you’ve lived with unity? The Bible says the world will know we’re followers of His by how we love one another. Why do you think that would be true?
(7)If you’re not living with unity, if you’re more worked up about our Governor than our God, if you’re more focused on party or platform than people, we need to repent. We need to turn and to fight for unity, not division. It brings blessing. How can you do that this week?
