Ephesians 3:20 - “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (NLT)
Jesus and the "I Will" Statements:
Matthew 4:19 - I will show you how to fish for people. (NLT)
Matthew 11:28 - I will give you rest. (NLT)
John 6:37 - I will never reject [you]. (NLT)
John 14:21 - I will love [you] and reveal myself to [you]. (NLT)
John 14:14 - Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (NLT)
Matthew 16:18 - I will build my church. (NLT)
Greek word for "church" is ekklesia - which carries the meaning of two distinct words: ek meaning "out" and kaleo meaning "to call".
John 16:7 - If I do go away, then I will send him [Holy Spirit] to you. (NLT)
The greek word parakletos is rich with meaning and has been translated many ways in English: Counselor, Strengthener, Comforter, Helper, Advisor, Advocate, Ally, Friend and Intercessor.
John 14:3 - I will come back. (NIV)
Recap the "I Will" declarations, Jesus will:
* show us how to fish for people
* give us rest
* never reject us
* love us and reveal himself to us
* do anything we ask in His name
* use us to build His church
* give us the Holy Spirit
* return
Our next step is making sure that our will lines up with His will.
Matthew 6:9-10 - This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (NIV)
