Principle 4: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God and to someone I trust.
Step 4: We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
Make time.
Open.
Rely.
Analyze.
List.
Discussion Starters:
What are your fears about starting your inventory?
What are the benefits of completing your personal inventory?
What are your fears about starting your inventory?
What are the benefits of completing your personal inventory?
Next Step:
When I receive minutes from a meeting that discussed a bunch of topics, but nothing was really resolved, I see the words “much discussion ensued.” It means there was a fire and lots of smoke, but no light! Although we had a good discussion, it did not lead to a firm, accountable action step.
Have you heard someone talk about their recovery this same way? Talking about something specific with lots of emotion, but no commitment to a firm, accountable action step? Our recovery needs to be reflective, but also directive - knowing how we got here, but, even more importantly, striving to get there to the goal that is still in front of us.
Our next step is to be committed, specific and realistic as we take our action step forward.
