Faith Lutheran Church Oakville
Relate: Gospel-Centered Relationships, Pastor Chris Sommer
We continue in our Relate message series, and today we are specifically focusing on the impact the Gospel has on our relationships. Or said differently, today we are talking about the importance of forgiveness in relationships: current relationships, past relationships, your relationship with God, and even your relationship with yourself.

Repent, forgive, repeat.
Even the relationships you are no longer in can affect you, especially when there is unforgiveness or unrepentance.
The goal of confession is not always forgiveness. If the other person is not available, then confession cannot be a means to forgiveness; but confession can be an end in and of itself.
Inexcusable does not mean unforgivable. We can forgive inexcusable actions; you can forgive something, without justifying it or tolerating it.
God’s forgiveness is not dependent on people forgiving us. And God’s forgiveness for people is not dependent on us forgiving them.
WAYS TO GIVE
We believe God wants to position Faith to be a generous body of believers able to invest in missional ministry where we live, work, play and beyond; wherever God leads us to bless those who need the Gospel. Faith members and regular attenders are on a journey to discover what it means to move from being blessed to blessing others. We give with gratitude in response to God’s grace and sacrificial love in Jesus, who already has met our deepest needs. He works through the sacrifice and generosity of His people to meet the needs of others and to fuel the mission of His church to make disciples.
