· Why God are you calling your people to their roots?

Last week we learned about the three connections that were damaged by the fall of Adam & Eve and through their seed Cain and Abel.

The connection with the creator, each other and the earth became damaged through opening the door to sin.

In Genesis the first prophecy of Messiah is given.

Genesis 3:15 NIV

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

· CHRIST IS THE SEED OF THE WOMAN THAT CRUSH THE HEAD OF THE SERPENT

· CHRIST=MESSIAH=ANOINTED ONE TO SAVE MANKIND

· SERPENT= LUCIFER=SATAN=DECEIVER OF MANKIND

· The initial prophecy is followed by over 350 prophecies that Christ fulfilled.

· God is calling His people to look again at their roots and understand that God’s one and only plan was for the Christ to be born of the seed of David from the lineage of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.

· The sad truth today is many people including Jewish people think that Jesus started a new religion called Christianity.

· Jesus never started a new religion!

· Jesus was the Jewish Messiah who fulfilled the prophecies written about Him.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 NIV

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,

“when I will make a new covenant

with the people of Israel

and with the people of Judah.

32 It will not be like the covenant

I made with their ancestors

when I took them by the hand

to lead them out of Egypt,

because they broke my covenant,

though I was a husband to them,”

declares the Lord.

33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel

after that time,” declares the Lord.

“I will put my law (Torah) in their minds

and write it on their hearts.

I will be their God,

and they will be my people.

34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,

or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’

because they will all know me,

from the least of them to the greatest,”

declares the Lord.

“For I will forgive their wickedness

and will remember their sins no more.”

· God said He would put the Torah in His peoples mind and write the Torah on their hearts.

· Jesus is the living Torah ( The Word Made Flesh)

· THERE IS ONE ADDITIONAL MOEDIM THAT HAPPENS EVERY WEEK:

· SHABBAT (SABBATH= DAY OF REST,

Leviticus 23:3 MEV

3 For six days work shall be done, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

Exodus 20:24 NLT

"Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me--your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you.

Why does God want His people to (MOEDIM) meet with Him, so they can remember and be reminded of God’s faithfulness.

Then God will come again in a fresh way and bless His people.

· GOD DESIRES TO BE THE CENTER OF YOUR ROUTINES & HABITS

· GOD IS CALLING HIS PEOPLE BACK TO THEIR ROOTS NOT TO KEEP THE LETTER OF THE FEASTS, BUT THE SPIRIT OF THE FEASTS

· JESUS IS THE ULTIMATE FUFILLMENT OF EVERY MOEDIM

JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED ON PASSOVER AS A LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH (JESUS TOLD US TO REMEMBER HIM THROUGH COMMUNION THE PASSOVER MEAL KNOWN AS SEDER)

JESUS BODY WAS THE UNLEAVENED BREAD THAT WAS BROKEN TO GIVE NEW LIFE

JESUS WAS RAISED ON THE THIRD DAY ON THE FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS AND THE FIRST BEGOTTEN FROM THE DEAD

JESUS CAME ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST TO WRITE THE TORAH IN THE HEART OF THOSE WAITING TO RECEIVE.

JESUS BLOOD IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE DAY OF ATONEMENT AS THE ONE WHO JUSTIFIES AND REDEEMS.

JESUS FULFILLED THE SUKKOT AS THE ONE WHO TABERACLES AMONG US AND GIVES US THE HOLY SPIRIT TO DWELL IN US

THE ONLY FEAST THAT IS YET TO BE FULFILLED IS THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS( ROSH HA SHANA) THIS WILL BE FULFILLED WHEN JESUS COMES FOR THE SECOND TIME.

1 Corinthians 15:52 NLT

It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.

· Is it a coincidence that every Moedim is being fulfilled by Messiah Jesus Christ?

Did you know that the Apostle Paul taught the Corinthian church to keep the spirit of these feasts even though they were mostly gentile believers? (1 Corinthians 5:7-8)

Do you know the only way Gentiles(people not born Jewish) get in on the promises of God is through Christ?

Ephesians 2:12-14 LB

12 Remember that in those days you were living utterly apart from Christ; you were enemies of God’s children, and he had promised you no help. You were lost, without God, without hope.13 But now you belong to Christ Jesus, and though you once were far away from God, now you have been brought very near to him because of what Jesus Christ has done for you with his blood. 14 For Christ himself is our way of peace. He has made peace between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one family, breaking down the wall of contempt* that used to separate us.

Did you know that tonight we are celebrating the last day of the Feast of Tabernacle(Sukkot).

This is also known as the Feast of Nations because during the millennial reign of Christ all Nations will come to Jerusalem to celebrate this feast.

This feast was to remind Israel of how they dwelt in booths for 40 years after they left Egypt

During the 7-day feast Israel was to dwell again in booths They would eat and sleep their remembering how life is fragile and temporary while God and eternity are forever.

It was in these booths that God would come again to meet with His people and bless them.

It was in the booth the people would experience the presence of God

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

Ephesians 5:18 ISV

Stop getting drunk with wine, which leads to wild living, but keep on being filled with the Spirit.

But you, dear friends, must continue to build your most holy faith for your own benefit. Furthermore, continue to pray in the Holy Spirit.
