WEEK ONE: KNOW GOD INTIMATELY
Day Seven
‘Like father, like son’ is a well-known and very true adage. The more time we spend with certain people, the more like them we can become. Paul has walked with Christ for some time, and the fruits of that are seen.
The term ‘fellowship’ means being in the same boat as another. Other translations of this verse express Paul’s desire to be found in fellowship with Christ. What does this mean? It means we share all the intentions of Christ; His direction becomes our direction, and His cares become our cares; that’s true fellowship. What are the things Jesus cared deeply about? Christ desired to glorify His Father (John 17:1, John 5:19), establish the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:15), heal the sick and bind up the broken-hearted (Luke 4:17-21), and to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
Questions/Prompts For Your Journal:
1. Am I truly in fellowship with Christ? Are His cares my cares? Whose boat am I in?
2. ASK: God, what are you saying to me today?
