In the Hospital? Comfort and Encouragement for You

DAY 2 OF 7

There’s Pain and There’s Hope

Being in the hospital usually involves some level of pain, discomfort, and awkwardness. It may be mild, or it may be unbearably awful. If you’re in pain and uncomfortable right now, you’ll find plenty of genuine, empathetic company in the Scriptures. The Bible does not shy away from expressing real and raw physical, emotional, and spiritual pain and anguish.

But it also highlights the hope that’s available to help you continue through the rest of today. And tomorrow. It’s worth it to reach out to God for the strength to persevere. With His help, you can stay resilient through this—whether you’ve fallen ill, you’ve received a tough diagnosis, or you’ve been involved in an accident. He cares for you, and He’s big enough to see you through this difficult time.

God sees your longing, your every need, and the questions of your heart. Don’t give up. Call out to God. There’s always hope.

It can be difficult to read when you’re in pain, so let’s jump straight into reaching out to God. Share with Him the parts of this prayer that apply to you.

A Place to Start in Prayer

Lord, I’m in pain. I’m feeling needy, sad, weak, and vulnerable. Help! Send rescue, and help me trust You until I see it. Help me not give up, but keep hoping in You. Protect me, and help me praise You in faith. In Jesus’ name, amen.

More for You
