Living Deeply RootedSample
It’s easy to feel like you want to hide from God sometimes. Especially when you don’t feel like you deserve to ask Him for anything if your behavior has not been “favorable.” However, when you find yourself drifting away from God, that is actually a perfect time to make the conscious decision to sit down and seek God’s presence through prayer. When you pour your heart out before Him in the most honest way possible, there is a freedom that is hard to explain in words, and surprisingly God LOVES when people who know they’re wrong come back to Him. He is so patient that He has been waiting all along. It is lovely to cross your spiritual t’s and dot all your i’s but, also know that God gives attention to the meek and lowly. There is an extraordinary measure of grace and mercy extended to you when you come back to God. He is already ready to receive you and willing to embrace you with His presence. Be encouraged. Jesus’ work on the cross was for you too! Go before the throne of grace with all humility and let God lift your head.
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. MATTHEW 6:7-8 NIV
God, let Your love overcome my weary soul. Lord, I need a break from disappointments. Thank You so much for all the ways You have shown Yourself strong to me. My heart is sometimes troubled because my emotions get the best of me. I want more than what I am receiving; the things of the world matter to me more than they should, but today I am asking that You remove all fear, shame, guilt, confusion, and disappointment by the power of Your presence. Speak Lord, for Your servant is listening.
