Jesus, my Friend Forever!

Just the other day, I shopped at a well-known store in a mall. The next day, I returned to exchange a pair of jeans which was defective. After explaining to the ‘Exchanges’ counter staff why I wanted the garment replaced, I was asked for the bill. I wasn’t carrying it. I argued with him, asking him to check with the sales staff, as I had purchased it just the previous day and was sure that he would remember me. But the sales staff stated that he was with many customers the previous day, thanks to the discount season, and had no recollection of our interaction. I was enraged. After spending over an hour with him in the store while trying out different garments, he bluntly refused to recognize me, let alone help me.
Later, as I was driving back home, with the replaced pair of jeans, the Lord said to me, “People may forget their promises, they may forget you. They may not remember how nice you have been to them, or how much of a friend you were to them in their time of need. They may not be there for you when you are down and out. But, I will be with you. I will never forget you nor forsake you. I will not forget My good plans for you. I will bring them to pass in due season. I am reliable, consistent and will never go back on My Word!” (Deuteronomy 31:6, Jeremiah 1:5, Habakkuk 2:3, Psalm 89:34). Immediately I felt a sense of relief and calmness flooding my whole being. Isn’t God wonderful?
You are assured that you have a friend who sticks closer than a brother, and who is always there for you!

Prayer
Father, thank You, that You are there for me today. You will bring to fruition all that You have planned for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
