Sing Praise to the Lord

One of the distinguishing marks of a relationship, be it with your spouse or a friend, is when we learn to appreciate and praise the person who we are in a relationship with. Praising and appreciating a loved one or a friend arises from the fact that you understand the person well and have observed wonderful qualities in them.
When we are in a relationship with God, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our spiritual eyes are opened and we see His love for us. We believe that God took the death penalty for our sins through Jesus, and our hearts are full of love and gratitude toward Him. Similarly, when we look at God’s marvelous creation in the beauty of our surroundings and nature, we stand in awe of Him.
God has and will always be our very present help in times of trouble. He is our healer and deliverer. He upholds us with His righteous right hand. He is our comforter. Hence, He alone deserves all our praises. David, in Psalm 71:8 (NIV), understood the awesomeness of God and declared, My mouth is filled with Your praise, declaring Your splendor all day long. Paul and Silas sang praises to the Lord when they were bound in chains (Acts 16:25). As a result, they were set free from prison.
As we spend time with the Lord, lingering in His presence and meditating on His Word, may we rejoice and sing His praises. In doing so, we will see His power and glory manifested in and through our lives.

Prayer
Lord, may we know You more intimately, so that in all circumstances, our mouths would always sing Your praises. Amen.
