Job 42:4-6
Job 42:4-6 New King James Version (NKJV)
Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’ “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.”
Job 42:1-6 The Message (MSG)
Job answered GOD: “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans. You asked, ‘Who is this muddying the water, ignorantly confusing the issue, second-guessing my purposes?’ I admit it. I was the one. I babbled on about things far beyond me, made small talk about wonders way over my head. You told me, ‘Listen, and let me do the talking. Let me ask the questions. You give the answers.’ I admit I once lived by rumors of you; now I have it all firsthand—from my own eyes and ears! I’m sorry—forgive me. I’ll never do that again, I promise! I’ll never again live on crusts of hearsay, crumbs of rumor.”
Job 42:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: But now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent In dust and ashes.
Job 42:4-6 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
‘Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me.’ I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You; Therefore I retract, And I repent in dust and ashes.”
Job 42:4-6 New Century Version (NCV)
You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak. I will ask you questions, and you must answer me.’ My ears had heard of you before, but now my eyes have seen you. So now I hate myself; I will change my heart and life. I will sit in the dust and ashes.”
Job 42:4-6 American Standard Version (ASV)
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; But now mine eye seeth thee: Wherefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.
Job 42:4-6 New International Version (NIV)

Job 42:4-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
‘Hear, please, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct [and answer] me.’ “I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, But now my [spiritual] eye sees You. “Therefore I retract [my words and hate myself] And I repent in dust and ashes.”
Job 42:4-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
You said, ‘Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.’ I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”
