Tasuta lugemisplaanid ja palveraamatud seoses Jonah 3

Jonah is a satirical book. Jonah first refuses God’s calling, then repents in the fish’s stomach, and later preaches a slapdash sermon with only a few words to the evil Assyrians in Nineveh. As people respond in repentance, Jonah whines about God’s grace for Israel’s inimical enemy. Reading Jonah’s story will confront us with this provocative question: Do you know that God’s compassion is also meant for non-believers?

The role of a watchman is vital to the spiritual health of the church, yet it is one that is frequently thankless and often met with resistance. Do you feel God calling you to lookout for others? Is He prompting you to warn them of impending or potential dangers? Are you prepared to be unpopular? If so, God just might be planning to use you as a watchman.

Begin your journey through Jonah with clarity. On the first day, you will read a guided introduction alongside the opening chapter of Jonah. It explains the story of a reluctant prophet, a repentant city, and a merciful God. Through Jonah's experiences, you will encounter themes of obedience, repentance, compassion, and God's concern for all people. As you read, remember that Jonah is still being translated today so communities around the world can encounter God's Word in the language they understand best. This plan offers a clear starting point as you read Jonah.

The book of Jonah has much to teach us about the lavish mercy of God and the temptation to selfishness in our own hearts. This 4-day study through Jonah’s prophecy will remind you of the extent to which God goes in pursuing rebellious sinners and changing our hearts to honor and serve Him.

Far from being some fairytale about a fish, the book of Jonah is a real story about God’s grace, compassion, and love—even toward wayward people—and his commitment to spreading his message around the world. In this four-day plan, pastor David Platt shows us God is determined to spread his Word to all the nations of the earth, and God uses his people to carry out this mission.

The book of Jonah teaches us profound truths about the character of God and his love for all people. His care extends beyond borders, cultures, and circumstances. He is merciful and forgiving despite our disobedience. As we read this book, may we not only gain insight into God's character but also be compelled to share His heart for every individual, embracing His call to extend love and grace to all.

Jonah is one of my favorite Bible stories. It's a small and rich story with only four small chapters; it doesn’t take long, but it is filled with powerful lessons for us today. We are going to spend four days reading through the book of Jonah together, pulling lessons from the life and story of Jonah.

The Book of Jonah provides deep insights into how we should respond to God's calling in our lives. Too often we find ourselves running away from God and His purpose. We have blind spots and are easily distracted. The good news is Jesus is merciful, and God’s power is evident in our weaknesses. We can fully trust Jesus in every aspect of our lives. God wants to fill our minds with clarity, our hearts with kindness, and our souls with passion. We are designed to receive God’s Word and share it with others. Are you ready to embrace your calling?

Join us for a chapter-by-chapter study of the book of Jonah! This plan covers the entire book with clear chapter summaries and thoughtful study questions designed to deepen your understanding of Scripture. Our mission is to encourage spiritual growth through the knowledge of God’s Word. We hope you’ll join us!

Have you ever tried to run from God? Jonah is one of the Bible’s most beloved stories, but it’s not about the whale. Jonah is a man running from God. Not running from His wrath, running from His mercy. Jonah just can’t understand God’s love for sinners. It’s a powerful story, and Through the Word guides you with clear explanation and compelling audio in just minutes each day.

The principles of God’s kingdom defy human logic. In humbling ourselves, we are exalted. In giving, we gain. In dying, we live! Fasting is similar; physical hunger on earth allows us to experience greater spiritual fullness. In this plan, you will be challenged to see God’s kingdom advance in and throughout your life by practicing the discipline of fasting.

The Good News of Jesus changes everything. Through Jesus, our sins are forgiven, our pasts are redeemed, and our futures are secure. In Him we have reconciliation, transformation, hope, and a purpose. In the following lessons, we’ll look at situations in the Bible that show the powerful, transformational power of the Gospel for those who hear it for the very first time.

Have you felt yourself give in to cynicism recently? Do you struggle to trust God and others after you feel they’ve let you down? Take 5 days to follow along with this plan to tackle your cynicism and learn to trust again. You’ll follow Jonah through the belly of the whale to understand how he became cynical and how he eventually chose to trust again.

God said go, and Jonah said no. Why? Because Jonah didn’t want God to show mercy to the people of Nineveh. Step inside Jonah’s story and encounter the God who pursues outsiders with His mercy and the insiders who struggle to extend it. Meet the God who invites you to hand back the gavel and gently soften your heart with compassion for others.

This 6-day plan will walk you through the book of Jonah by reading two main passages a day. Each day is accompanied by a short video that explains what’s happening in the text. You'll also learn how each part of the story points to Jesus and how those who believe in him must learn to receive God's scandalous mercy for themselves and others.

Almost everyone is familiar with the man who was swallowed by the whale. But Jonah is much more than a childhood Bible lesson, at its core, it’s a story about a stubborn man and a gracious God. Over the next 7 days, you will read Jonah’s story twice along with some other companion verses.

Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and an optimistic mindset; wanting something to happen. If you are in a season of waiting or feel like things around you are hopeless, let this plan encourage you to remain steadfast, trusting in Him, so that your strength may be renewed and your life transformed.

This is an 8 day Reading Plan with a devotional guide. On the one hand we encounter a Prophet who runs from God while on the other hand we see a gracious God who pursues the disobedient prophet. Through the Book of Jonah, we begin to see how God extends His rich mercy and grace toward us and makes us to be people on mission for His Kingdom.

This study will take you on a journey through the Bible. Along the way, you’ll look at characters and events that show us God’s mission and His heart for the world. Each day begins with some passages of Scripture for you to read. As you consider the mission God has for you, we hope this Bible study will be a source of insight and encouragement for you!

Whenever we feel we have a better plan than God, we set ourselves up for disaster. Sadly, we often fall into this trap, assuming that God will act on behalf of the “right” people and against the “wrong” ones. In this 11-day plan, Alistair Begg dives into the story of Jonah, the Old Testament prophet who did not want to preach.

Hearing the voice of God is a profound and essential part of the Christian life. God speaks in various ways—sometimes audibly, through circumstances, through dreams, or through other people. But primarily, He speaks through His written word. This reading plan studies how you can hear God’s voice and respond in faith to draw closer to God and grow in your relationship with Him.

What drives you to live beyond yourself, to embrace Jesus’ commission to make disciples of all nations? Jesus reached beyond His own people and calls His followers to do the same. These Bible stories will engage you in God’s vision and reveal what Michael Jordan, an Israelite servant girl, a Samaritan leper and others teach us about our own mission—and being compelled by Christ’s love.

To live dead is to live a life wholly for Jesus. To die to self, knowing God will do a greater work through you. This 14-day reading plan looks at character-based missions among the unreached. Each day includes a way to pray for unreached people in East Africa and a challenge to live and die for Jesus so that He might be made famous among all peoples of the earth.
