Fear Not! Faith DevotionsMuestra
I Will Go with You
“Then God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, ‘Jacob, Jacob!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ So He said, ‘I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will put his hand on your eyes’" (Genesis 46:2-4).
God spoke to Jacob when he was 130 years old and told him not to fear this move to Egypt. I can only imagine that by the time one reaches the ripe age of 130 he may be a little set in his ways. God reaffirmed the covenant promise He had made to Abraham that He would make a great nation from his family. However, the fulfillment of that promise was going to take place in Egypt and not in his native land of Canaan.
Sometimes, to walk into our destiny will require us to step out of our comfort zone. It may require you to make a move to a land that is in the middle of a great famine. The good news for Jacob was that God said, “I will go down with you.”
At some point in your life, God is going to make you step out on faith to walk in your destiny. The author of Hebrews tells us, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see … And without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:1, 6). Do you have faith? Paul tells us in Romans 12:3, “God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” So, you do have the faith. You just have to walk it out.
Remember, God had given Joseph two dreams at age seventeen about these future events. This move was part of God’s master plan all along, but Joseph endured thirteen years of prison along the way before he walked into his destiny. Just as God told Jacob He would accompany him to Egypt, so God was also with Joseph in prison. “But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison” (Genesis 39:21). Just as God was with Jacob and Joseph, so He will be with you. “He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:8), especially in the midst of the storm or times of uncertainty.
Prayer: Thank You Lord that You promise to go with me in times of uncertainty. Help me Lord to walk into my destiny. May my faith overcome any fear of the unknown. I trust in You, the maker of dreams and the fulfiller of destinies. In Jesus name, amen.
Acerca de este Plan
Fear is a venom and toxic to your body. Faith is the antivenom to fear. Just as light crushes darkness, so faith dispels fear. According to Romans, you’ve been given faith, “God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” If you want to walk in your God-given destiny, you must cultivate it. Put your faith to work and watch it grow while your fears and anxieties dissipate.
