Victory Over “Bad Days”Muestra
When Your Days Just "Aren't Good"…
If you feel like you have only two options—crying or trusting—how do you choose between them? In purely human terms, crying is quicker and easier. But what if you could trust, truly trust?
There was a time in my life when everything I started just seemed to go wrong. Do you know what I mean?
You make appointments and then realize you can't keep them. You order something online, only to see that the order is totally wrong. Your child comes home from school with a bad grade; you drive into the trash can as you're parking your car; you burn the food for your get-together with your friends that evening; and finally, you spill coffee on your computer…
Everything just goes wrong!
I love that the Lord always wants to speak into our lives and encourage us on a daily basis through His Word! After all, we don't just need encouragement when the "big" disasters happen—we also need to be encouraged when our days just "aren't good." God knew that from the beginning. That's why His Word is always full of hope for us:
"'Who is among you who [reverently] fears the Lord, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness … and has no shining splendor [in his heart]? Let him rely on, trust in, and be confident in the name of the Lord, and let him lean upon and be supported by his God.'" (Isaiah 50:10, AMPC)
During that tough time in my life, I read this verse and thought to myself, "Ah, how good! I needed that." Honestly, at that point, there really wasn't any "shining splendor" anywhere. And then, there the truth was! I can lean on God and be supported by Him.
He is holding me up—holding you up—still! And while He's holding you, He's taking care of the rest in the meantime.
At that moment, I decided to stop crying…I'd tried enough of that. Instead, I chose to try something new: trust!
And do you know what? The decision to trust has brought new joy into my life.
Joy begins where your trust in God begins!
You're a miracle!
