No One Like the Father

DAY 2 OF 5

It is crucial to recognize that the devil desires to manipulate our trust in our heavenly Father through negative experiences with our earthly fathers. The devil knows that if he can get you to doubt the father you can see, you may have difficulty trusting the heavenly father you can’t see. He attempts to communicate that just as your earthly father abandoned or mistreated you, your heavenly father will do the same. This lie often leads us to distrust God as our Heavenly Father. We must be careful not to compare our experiences with our earthly fathers and count them as a reflection of our perfect heavenly father.

Regardless of whether you were raised in a fatherless home, had an abusive father, or are raising children without a great example of a father figure, I encourage you that, as Psalm 27:10 says, “When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” Trust that as you learn for yourself and teach your children about their heavenly Father, we have a Father like no other. Our Heavenly Father is perfect in all His ways; He is not like man that he should lie nor the son of man that he should repent. He will never leave us nor forsake us!

Perhaps you’ve had difficulty trusting God because your earthly father failed you in some areas. I encourage you to know that God’s character is different. As you get to know him for yourself and teach your children about Him, He will show up for you in ways that no man can. Do not allow the enemy’s lies to keep you from pursuing a deeper relationship with your heavenly Father. The Bible tells us as we draw closer to Him, He draws closer to us. Your heavenly father wants a relationship with you!

In Matthew 7, Jesus himself encourages us with the love of the Father. He tells us that if we, being evil, know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more will our heavenly Father give us good things? I encourage you to pursue Him deeper than you have if you know that your relationship has been adversely affected by your experience with your earthly father because your heavenly Father desires to bless you!

About this Plan

No One Like the Father

Our experiences with our earthly father often influence how we relate to our heavenly Father. Sadly, not everyone has had positive experiences with their earthly father, which can adversely impact our relationship with our heavenly Father. This Bible plan offers guidance and encouragement to those who have had less-than-ideal situations with their earthly father, helping them understand that there is no one like our heavenly Father.
