You Were Created to Innovate

The Judeo-Christian creation story is unique among creation stories. Many follow the idea of the world being either forged from the fire of conflict or falling from an idyllic state of leisure and ease. According to the Bible however, creation was the result of God going to work. And once creation was set in motion, God promptly turned the “family business” over to Adam and Eve. We are all made in the image of God. We bear a divine imprint. So if God is the Creator, and we are made in His image, then by default, we are creators too.

We are all called to ministry on this earth—to fill it with every good work. It’s just that some of us serve in churches or homes, while others serve in the marketplace. One is not better than the other as long as we are doing what God called us to do. When God’s love is presented with a problem, it innovates a solution. And God is always willing to partner with us in the process as long as we ask.

Prayer:

Lord, even if we do not feel like creators, remind us that we are a part of Your family business—that we are all made in the image of our Creator. Teach us to innovate in any and all areas of our lives. And Lord, thank You for the blessing of Your partnership—that You will always be there when we call Your name.
