Do you remember the first time you learned the alphabet? At first, it was probably difficult to understand how those letters could make words, but once you got the hang of it, you understood that words make sentences and that sentences communicate ideas you want to say. The alphabet is the foundation of any language, just like there is a foundation to our faith as Christians. They are the things that matter most when it comes to our faith.

One of the things that Jesus said matters most was to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. But what exactly does that mean for us? Jesus reminds us that above everything we do, we should seek to love and serve God in all circumstances.

The second most important thing, according to Jesus, is to love your neighbor as yourself. What does Jesus mean by this? He is telling us that we must love, care for, and help those around us, just as much as we would do for ourselves. Because when we love and serve others, we are serving Jesus, too.

So today, look for one way to serve someone else around you as a way to love them. It could be encouraging someone by sending a DM, listening to a friend who needs to talk, helping your parents around the house, or doing something kind for someone at school. Choose one thing to do today, and then do it!
