Real Hope: All InSample
The Winning Team
I support a particular team within the NRL competition. My team has been doing reasonably well over the last few years. As a result, my now 8-yearold son became a supporter. However, this season as another team is on top of the table and in winning form, my son has decided to switch teams! I’m yet to fully process this switch, nevertheless I have let him choose his path.
Does our faith journey have similar traits? When things are going well or there’s good momentum, it seems easier to be a follower of Jesus. However, when life gets busy, difficult or complicated does our trust and dependence on Him increase or decrease? As Jesus followers, we are called to love God with ALL our heart, soul and mind. Not some of, not most of, but all of it. It would be safe to assume that even the most seasoned of us struggle with this at times. None of us truly arrive, and if you are distant from Him remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1–2).
Regardless of where you place yourself in the spectrum of ‘all in’, may I encourage you that your team will win. The final chapter has already been written. The whistle has been blown and the score line sits immeasurably in favour of our God. See you at the victory party!

About this Plan
The decision to accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour is not one to be made lightly. God does not ask us to only follow Him when times are good. He does not ask us to only obey Him when we feel like it. He does not ask for half of our heart. No, He asks for all of us. For us to deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow Him. What does a life that is ‘all in’ for Christ look like? Through this plan, we will be looking at just that. How we can live lives that are ‘all in’ for Christ and how can we encourage one another as we run this race of faith?
