From Insecurity to Godly Identity: My Path to FreedomSample
One prayer…it can save a life!
For those of you who read these daily miracles to your family, please know that today's "miracle" has some sensitive content.
"How can someone as fat as you run at all?" One sentence. One! But it was filled with words that would completely change my life. I was 13 years old, and until then, I'd never really been concerned that at 172 pounds, I was "bigger" than other girls my age. But this one sentence… almost killed me. Yes, you heard right.
In about a year, I lost 65 pounds. I ate half an apple a day and worked out like crazy to ensure I'd weigh even less the next morning. I struggled physically, so much that I couldn't move my left leg anymore. My body was fading away…
My worried parents didn't even want me to leave the house because I would often faint. Coming home late one night, sneaking quietly by their bedroom, I heard my mom cry out loudly: "We can already get a coffin for our daughter…she's going to die anyways." And she was right. The doctors had told us that at this rate, I had a maximum of four weeks to live…
But then my dad confidently responded, through tears, "No! We're going to pray for our daughter, and our daughter will live!"
Something miraculous happened at that very moment. It was a miracle because everyone who should have had answers had given up on me, but my parents, who had no answers at all, had prayers of hope! They turned to the One they knew could help:
"...For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'" (Hebrews 13:5, NKJV) ]
When everyone else had given up on me, their faith reached my heart and healed it! When you feel like giving up, look up! One sentence caused my life to spiral, and one prayer saved it!
I want to encourage you that no matter what you or someone you love may be going through, keep praying and believing! I am living proof that one prayer can save a life! 🙌
You are a miracle!
