Power PlaySample
It’s easy to feel powerless in the world today. There are so many things out of our control, making us feel like every decision is out of our hands. There is always someone who has more power. Someone who has all the authority, while we have none. And to a certain extent, that’s true. There will always be someone more powerful.
We’ll never reach the very peak of authority, where no one else has a say except for us. But knowing there is always someone more powerful doesn’t mean we don’t have the power ourselves. We do have control over how we act, what we say, and how we treat others. Whether it’s leading a team at work, raising children, or even just living our own lives, we each have our own power that we are responsible for. And ultimately, we’re all under the same authority.
When we think of ourselves as powerless, we can feel powerful knowing that we have the best Leader—One who uses His authority for our good and brings us closer to Him.
As you go throughout the week, be sure to include Christ in all of the decisions you have to make. Think of His example as a leader as you work with others or as you talk with your family.

About this Plan
Every day we see people use whatever power they have to either lift up or knock down, cause change or further self-interest, or do whatever it takes to get ahead. Jesus showed how to use power to treat others around us, even those with more power and authority who we may disagree with. No matter how much or little we have, we’re called to use our power for good.
