Reasonable Doubt

DAY 10 OF 20

What do you think are essential qualities of a friendship? Maybe things like loyalty, honesty, respect, and trust come to mind. These qualities don't just automatically happen in a relationship; they develop over time. What if we saw our faith as a relationship? For our faith to develop and grow, we need to give it time and energy, just like we do with relationships. As our faith grows, our connection with the Holy Spirit grows. Remember the Holy Spirit is God's presence helping us live out our faith.

So what are the ways we can grow that connection? The book of Galatians, a letter that Paul wrote to a group of Jesus' followers, talks about how we can develop and connect more with the Holy Spirit. Paul says those who have a deep connection with the Holy Spirit live out the following qualities: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. If we want to stay more connected to the Holy Spirit, we should strive to live out these qualities.

As you read these verses, what quality of the Holy Spirit seems most interesting, or an area you'd like to grow in?

About this Plan

Reasonable Doubt

What’s the most unreasonable thing you’ve heard? Was it a story or a statement that was hard for you to believe? It can be difficult to ask questions or express doubt when other people seem so certain, especially when it comes to faith. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll see it really is possible to have questions and doubts while still having faith.
