6 Cues to Find Your CallingSample

6 Cues to Find Your Calling

DAY 3 OF 7

When I was curious about discovering God's will for my life, I got busy loving God, participating in church activities like prayer and fasting, and was obedient to what my Pastor told me to do at church.

For instance, once, my Pastor told me to join the worship team; but quickly we all realized the worship team was not for me. I was 14 at the time and remember feeling a tingling anointing while preaching, so I focused on speaking.

God did not reveal His call for me until after I was involved with serving in what I could at my local church.

God confirmed the call to me like this: At 16 or 17, I was already leading the youth, and felt the call of God. I was on my knees, crying, and pleading to God, I sensed Him in the room telling me, “I am calling you; you are called to reach the world.”

God can reveal His will for you through a dream, prophecy, or through an inner whisper.

In the Bible, some were called through an angel, through a burning bush, or through a prophet. For me, it was an impression in my heart (an encounter with the Lord) that ushered me into the ministry I am in today.

Work hard in loving God and contributing to your church, then, God will confirm your calling by providing a specific revelation.

You may ask, but what if I do not get a specific revelation?

Still serve at your local church.

If you are going to love God, love people, disciple them, win the lost, cast out demons, heal the sick, love your spouse, raise your children, live with integrity, and live a life of obedience to God, you are already fulfilling your calling.

Continue to serve God and do everything as unto the Lord.

Today’s Prayer:

God, as I dedicate my time to serve others, I pray that You show me what Your specific calling is for me. Help me to serve others without reserve, and teach me to love people as You do. I entrust my future in Your hands in Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

6 Cues to Find Your Calling

People often ask, "How do I know what I am called to do?" With this plan, I want to explain how there is a general will of God for every Christian, and this general will of God involves: following Jesus, forsaking sin, and winning souls. However, as you continue partaking in God's general will for your life as a believer, His specific will for you begins to be uncovered.
