Moving Toward Forgiveness by Wendy AlsupSample

Moving Toward Forgiveness by Wendy Alsup

DAY 3 OF 5

Joseph wept when he heard his brothers finally name their sin against him for the horror that it was.

There is power in hearing someone finally name the harm done toward you. And if you are the one who sinned against another, God offers mercy and hope when we face our sins head on and own the harm we have done.

  • How did Joseph’s brothers specifically acknowledge what they had done wrong? Their confession was not directed at Joseph, but how did it affect him?
  • In the relationship you are living with, can you name the specific sins committed against you?
  • If hurt has been caused on both sides, can you name your sins to the person you’ve hurt? Will you ask for their forgiveness—and God’s forgiveness—for those sins specifically?
