Wow! What a Sight!

Ready:
“Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty-but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” Revelation 21:27
Set:
I couldn’t wait for the evening’s basketball game! The competition was top notch and the facility outranked most gyms! The court was incredible, the aesthetics of the gymnasium unbelievable, and the atmosphere was inspiring. I decided to unload our van of people at the front door and help them avoid the long walk through the nasty wintry-weather. However, a kind policeman wouldn’t allow me to go near the entrance without a season pass.
Revelation 21 describes John’s incredible and breath-taking vision of the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven. But at the end of the chapter, we read that only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life can enter. Eternity with God in heaven is not for everyone. If you have not placed your faith in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, you will not be allowed to enter His presence. It didn’t matter if I talked nice to the policeman, he wouldn’t let me in. In the same way, we can’t sweet talk our way into heaven.
God loves you and desires for you to have an eternal relationship with Him today. This world is like that snowy night – cold, dark, and dangerous; but inside that school, we enjoyed the beauty of the building, opportunities to cheer, and time with friends. Sounds like heaven. This earth will soon pass away; don’t get left outside of God’s eternal kingdom!
Go:
1. How does the Bible describe heaven?
2. Do you know how to secure your place in heaven?

Overtime:
“Heavenly Father, Your home is beautiful, but your presence is awesome. This world is a dark and cold place, and I don’t want to be here. Thank You for sending Your only son, Jesus Christ to die for me, so that I can live with You. Amen.”
