LEADING FROM FEAR RESULTS IN:
Leading Defensively
Leading Reactively
Leading Thoughtlessly
WE MUST LEAD FROM FAITH: Let’s re-direct our thinking.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:6-8
God is still in control
Let’s eliminate the non-essentials and focus on the Good News of the Gospel.
Let’s raise the practice of prayer to one of prominence.
Let’s look for ways to serve and help others.
Let’s trust God with the things we can’t control.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
Be Confident in the Lord’s Protection
Be Confident in the Lord’s Presence
“For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock…” Psalm 27:5
“Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, LORD, do I seek.’” Psalm 27:7 - 8
Be Confident in the Lord’s Promises
The Lord will HEAR you. (Psalm 27:7-8)
The Lord will HELP you. (Psalm 27:9-10)
The Lord will GUIDE you. (Psalm 27:11-12)
Be Confident in the Lord’s Goodness
“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” Psalm 27:13-14
What do you fear?
Loneliness? Jesus says, "Never will I forsake you, never will I leave you." Hebrews 13:5b
Loss of income? His Word says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches.”
Philipians 4:19
Do you fear death? Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he die...” John 11:25
