Parkerville Baptist Church
Christmas Service
Pastor Jason Brooks will be bringing the Christmas message for our Christmas services and there will also be skits, videos and Christmas carols - something for everyone! These services are fun and family friendly so there will be no Creche, KidsMin or Sunday Youth on this weekend. Jason says “Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, writes the prophet Isaiah. This was written approximately 700 years before Jesus came into the world! The Apostle Paul writes that Christ was crucified before the foundation of the world! It brings me great joy to know that God in His infinite wisdom, in His omniscience and omnipotence, has always had our redemption at hand. And this was all fulfilled in Jesus Christ who was born into this world through the virgin Mary, suffered at the hands of mankind on the cross, resurrected the third day and through Him we have peace and reconciliation with God. Come along to celebrate with us the birth of our Saviour!!”

Our theme this Christmas has been “beyond expectations” We have been talking about how God goes beyond our expectations and how He goes beyond our expectations in Jesus.
God chose to bring redemption into this world through a child, a baby born in Bethlehem. Fully God and yet fully man. He went to the cross and was crucified for our sins and resurrected from the dead.
There are lots of failed predictions throughout history
Jesus fulfilled at least 300 prophecies in His earthly ministry.
8 of these predictions / prophecies are:
1. The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).
2. A messenger will prepare the way for the Messiah (Malachi 3:1).
3. The Messiah will enter Jerusalem as a king riding on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9).
4. The Messiah will be betrayed by a friend and suffer wounds in His hands (Zechariah 13:6).
5. The Messiah will be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12).
6. The betrayal money will be used to purchase a potter’s field (Zechariah 11:13).
7. The Messiah will remain silent while He is afflicted (Isaiah 53:7)
8. The Messiah will die by having His hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16). A description of the crucifixion.
1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. That’s one in one hundred quadrillion!
How do we come to know God?
Through Jesus!
Through Jesus we know the love of God!
How will you show the love of Jesus this Christmas?
▪︎ Spend time with your families
▪︎ Spend time with your children
▪︎ Spend time with those who do not have family
▪︎ Contact those you have not spoken to for a long time
▪︎ Contact those who have no one
▪︎ If there are those you no longer talk to, then contact them
▪︎ If there are those who have offended, you then forgive them
▪︎ If there are those who you have offended, then seek reconciliation.
▪︎ Forgive and love one another
Show the love of God to one another as God has shown His love to us through His Son.
