Psalms 135:5-7
Psalms 135:5-12 The Message (MSG)
I, too, give witness to the greatness of GOD, our Lord, high above all other gods. He does just as he pleases— however, wherever, whenever. He makes the weather—clouds and thunder, lightning and rain, wind pouring out of the north. He struck down the Egyptian firstborn, both human and animal firstborn. He made Egypt sit up and take notice, confronted Pharaoh and his servants with miracles. Yes, he struck down great nations, he slew mighty kings— Sihon king of the Amorites, also Og of Bashan— every last one of the Canaanite kings! Then he turned their land over to Israel, a gift of good land to his people.
Psalms 135:5-7 King James Version (KJV)
For I know that the LORD is great, And that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, In the seas, and all deep places. He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
Psalms 135:5-7 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
For I know that the LORD is great And that our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
Psalms 135:5-7 New Century Version (NCV)
I know that the LORD is great. Our Lord is greater than all the gods. The LORD does what he pleases, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and the deep oceans. He brings the clouds from the ends of the earth. He sends the lightning with the rain. He brings out the wind from his storehouses.
Psalms 135:5-7 American Standard Version (ASV)
For I know that Jehovah is great, And that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, that hath he done, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps; Who causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who maketh lightnings for the rain; Who bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries
Psalms 135:5-7 New International Version (Anglicised) (NIVUK)
I know that the LORD is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.
Psalms 135:5-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
For I know that the LORD is great, And our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.
Psalms 135:5-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
¶For I know that the LORD is great And that our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all deeps— Who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightning for the rain, Who brings the wind from His storehouses
Psalms 135:5-7 New Living Translation (NLT)
I know the greatness of the LORD— that our Lord is greater than any other god. The LORD does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.
Psalms 135:5-7 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Next to every other god, the greatness of our God is unequaled. For our God is incomparable! He does what he pleases with unlimited power and authority, extending his greatness throughout the entire universe! He forms the misty clouds and creates thunder and lightning, bringing the wind and rain out of his heavenly storehouse.
Psalms 135:5-7 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.
