Psalms 115:16-18
Psalms 115:16-18 New Living Translation (NLT)
The heavens belong to the LORD, but he has given the earth to all humanity. The dead cannot sing praises to the LORD, for they have gone into the silence of the grave. But we can praise the LORD both now and forever!
Psalms 115:12-18 The Message (MSG)
O GOD, remember us and bless us, bless the families of Israel and Aaron. And let GOD bless all who fear GOD— bless the small, bless the great. Oh, let GOD enlarge your families— giving growth to you, growth to your children. May you be blessed by GOD, by GOD, who made heaven and earth. The heaven of heavens is for GOD, but he put us in charge of the earth. Dead people can’t praise GOD— not a word to be heard from those buried in the ground. But we bless GOD, oh yes— we bless him now, we bless him always! Hallelujah!
Psalms 115:16-18 King James Version (KJV)
The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: But the earth hath he given to the children of men. The dead praise not the LORD, Neither any that go down into silence. But we will bless the LORD From this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.
Psalms 115:16-18 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men. The dead do not praise the LORD, Nor do any who go down into silence; But as for us, we will bless the LORD From this time forth and forever. Praise the LORD!
Psalms 115:16-18 New Century Version (NCV)
Heaven belongs to the LORD, but he gave the earth to people. Dead people do not praise the LORD; those in the grave are silent. But we will praise the LORD now and forever. Praise the LORD!

The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to the human race. It is not the dead who praise the LORD, those who go down to the place of silence; it is we who extol the LORD, both now and for evermore.

Psalms 115:16-18 The Passion Translation (TPT)
The heavens belong to our God; they are his alone, but he has given us the earth and put us in charge. Dead people cannot praise the Lord, but we can! Those who sink to the silence of the grave can no longer give glory to God, but we can! So let’s praise the Lord and let it go on forever. Hallelujah, and praise the Lord!
