Psalms 115:1-3
Psalms 115:1-3 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Not to us, O LORD, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth. Why should the nations say, “Where, now, is their God?” But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.
Psalms 115:1-3 American Standard Version (ASV)
Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, But unto thy name give glory, For thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth’s sake. Wherefore should the nations say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever he pleased.
Psalms 115:1-8 The Message (MSG)
Not for our sake, GOD, no, not for our sake, but for your name’s sake, show your glory. Do it on account of your merciful love, do it on account of your faithful ways. Do it so none of the nations can say, “Where now, oh where is their God?” Our God is in heaven doing whatever he wants to do. Their gods are metal and wood, handmade in a basement shop: Carved mouths that can’t talk, painted eyes that can’t see, Tin ears that can’t hear, molded noses that can’t smell, Hands that can’t grasp, feet that can’t walk or run, throats that never utter a sound. Those who make them have become just like them, have become just like the gods they trust.
Psalms 115:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, For thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
Psalms 115:1-3 New Century Version (NCV)
It does not belong to us, LORD. The glory belongs to you because of your love and loyalty. Why do the nations ask, “Where is their God?” Our God is in heaven. He does what he pleases.
Psalms 115:1-3 New International Version (Anglicised) (NIVUK)
Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Why do the nations say, ‘Where is their God?’ Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
Psalms 115:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth. Why should the Gentiles say, “So where is their God?” But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Psalms 115:1-3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Not to us, O LORD, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth and faithfulness. Why should the nations say, “Where, now, is their God?” But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Psalms 115:1-3 New Living Translation (NLT)
Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Why let the nations say, “Where is their God?” Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.
Psalms 115:1-3 The Passion Translation (TPT)
God, glorify your name! Yes, your name alone be glorified, not ours. For you are the one who loves us passionately, and you are faithful and true. Why should the unbelievers mock us, saying, “Where is this God of yours?” But we know our God rules from the heavens, and he takes delight in all that he does.
