Isaiah 5:22-23
Isaiah 5:21-23 The Message (MSG)
Doom to you who think you’re so smart, who hold such a high opinion of yourselves! All you’re good at is drinking—champion boozers who collect trophies from drinking bouts And then line your pockets with bribes from the guilty while you violate the rights of the innocent.
Isaiah 5:22-23 King James Version (KJV)
Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

Isaiah 5:22-23 New Century Version (NCV)
How terrible it will be for people who are famous for drinking wine and are champions at mixing drinks. They take money to set the guilty free and don’t allow good people to be judged fairly.

Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink; that justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold. They take bribes to let the wicked go free, and they punish the innocent.
