Pan wyt ti’n eistedd i lawr i fwyta gyda llywodraethwr, gwylia’n ofalus sut rwyt ti’n ymddwyn; dal yn ôl, paid llowcio dy fwyd. Paid stwffio dy hun ar ei ddanteithion, mae’n siŵr ei fod e eisiau rhywbeth gen ti! Paid lladd dy hun yn ceisio gwneud arian; bydd yn ddigon call i ymatal. Cyn i ti droi rownd mae e wedi mynd! Mae’n magu adenydd ac yn hedfan i ffwrdd fel eryr. Paid bwyta wrth fwrdd person cybyddlyd; paid stwffio dy hun gyda’i ddanteithion. Mae e’n cadw cyfri o bopeth wyt ti’n ei fwyta! Mae’n dweud, “Tyrd, bwyta ac yfed faint fynni di,” ond dydy e ddim yn meddwl hynny go iawn. Byddi’n chwydu’r ychydig rwyt wedi’i fwyta, ac wedi gwastraffu dy eiriau caredig. Paid dweud gormod wrth ffŵl; fydd e’n gwneud dim ond gwawdio dy eiriau doeth di. Paid symud yr hen ffiniau, a dwyn tir oddi ar yr amddifad; mae’r Un sy’n eu hamddiffyn nhw yn gryf, a bydd yn cymryd eu hachos yn dy erbyn di. Penderfyna dy fod eisiau dysgu a gwrando ar eiriau doeth. Paid bod ag ofn disgyblu dy blentyn; dydy gwialen ddim yn mynd i’w ladd e. Defnyddia’r wialen a byddi’n achub ei fywyd. Fy mab, os dysgi di fod yn ddoeth, bydda i’n hapus iawn. Bydda i wrth fy modd yn dy glywed di’n dweud beth sy’n iawn. Paid cenfigennu wrth y rhai sy’n pechu – bydd di’n ffyddlon i Dduw bob amser. Wedyn bydd pethau’n iawn yn y diwedd, a bydd gen ti obaith fydd byth yn dy siomi.

Pan eisteddi i fwyta gyda llywodraethwr, rho sylw manwl i'r hyn sydd o'th flaen, a gosod gyllell at dy wddf os wyt yn un blysig. Paid â chwennych ei ddanteithion, oherwydd bwyd sy'n twyllo ydyw. Paid â'th flino dy hun i ennill cyfoeth; bydd yn ddigon synhwyrol i ymatal. Os tynni dy lygaid oddi arno, y mae'n diflannu, oherwydd y mae'n magu adenydd, fel eryr yn hedfan i'r awyr. Paid â bwyta gyda neb cybyddlyd, na chwennych ei ddanteithion, oherwydd bydd hynny fel blewyn yn ei lwnc; bydd yn dweud wrthyt, “Bwyta ac yf”, ond ni fydd yn meddwl hynny. Byddi'n chwydu'r tameidiau a fwyteaist, ac yn gwastraffu dy ganmoliaeth. Paid â llefaru yng nghlyw'r ffŵl, oherwydd bydd yn dirmygu synnwyr dy eiriau. Paid â symud yr hen derfynau, na chymryd meddiant o diroedd yr amddifaid; oherwydd y mae eu Gwaredwr yn gryf, a bydd yn amddiffyn eu hachos yn dy erbyn. Gosod dy feddwl ar gyfarwyddyd, a'th glust ar eiriau deall. Paid ag atal disgyblaeth oddi wrth blentyn; os byddi'n ei guro â gwialen, ni fydd yn marw. Os byddi'n ei guro â gwialen, byddi'n achub ei fywyd o Sheol. Fy mab, os bydd dy galon yn ddoeth, bydd fy nghalon innau yn llawen. Byddaf yn llawenhau drwof i gyd pan fydd dy enau yn llefaru'n uniawn. Paid â chenfigennu wrth bechaduriaid, ond wrth y rhai sy'n ofni'r ARGLWYDD bob amser; os felly, bydd dyfodol iti, ac ni thorrir ymaith dy obaith.
Diarhebion 23:1-18 Beibl William Morgan - Argraffiad 1955 (BWM)
Pan eisteddych i fwyta gyda thywysog, ystyria yn ddyfal beth sydd ger dy fron: A gosod gyllell ar dy geg, os byddi ddyn blysig. Na ddeisyf ei ddanteithion ef: canys bwyd twyllodrus ydyw. Nac ymflina i ymgyfoethogi: dod heibio dy synnwyr dy hun. A beri di i’th lygaid ehedeg ar y peth nid yw? canys golud yn ddiau a gymer adenydd, ac a eheda ymaith megis eryr tua’r wybr. Na fwyta fwyd y drwg ei lygad; ac na chwennych mo’i ddanteithion ef. Canys fel y meddylia yn ei galon, felly efe a ddywed wrthyt, Bwyta ac yf; a’i galon heb fod gyda thi. Y tamaid a fwyteaist a fwri i fyny, a’th eiriau melys a golli. Na lefara lle y clywo y ffôl: canys efe a ddiystyra ddoethineb dy eiriau. Na symud mo’r hen derfyn; ac na ddos i feysydd yr amddifaid: Canys eu gwaredwr hwynt sydd nerthol; ac a amddiffyn eu cweryl hwynt yn dy erbyn di. Gosod dy galon ar addysg, a’th glustiau ar eiriau gwybodaeth. Na thyn gerydd oddi wrth dy blentyn: os curi ef â gwialen, ni bydd efe farw. Cur ef â gwialen, a thi a achubi ei enaid rhag uffern. Fy mab, os dy galon di fydd doeth, fy nghalon innau a lawenycha; Ie, fy arennau a grychneidiant, pan draetho dy wefusau di gyfiawnder. Na wynfyded dy galon wrth bechaduriaid: ond aros yn ofn yr ARGLWYDD yn hyd y dydd. Canys yn ddiau y mae gwobr; ac ni phalla dy ddisgwyliad.
