Ac yn y fan y gyrrodd yr Iesu ei ddisgyblion i fyned i’r llong, ac i fyned i’r lan arall o’i flaen ef, tra fyddai efe yn gollwng y torfeydd ymaith. Ac wedi iddo ollwng y torfeydd ymaith, efe a esgynnodd i’r mynydd wrtho ei hun, i weddïo: ac wedi ei hwyrhau hi, yr oedd efe yno yn unig. A’r llong oedd weithian yng nghanol y môr, yn drallodus gan donnau: canys gwynt gwrthwynebus ydoedd. Ac yn y bedwaredd wylfa o’r nos yr aeth yr Iesu atynt, gan rodio ar y môr. A phan welodd y disgyblion ef yn rhodio ar y môr, dychrynasant, gan ddywedyd, Drychiolaeth ydyw. A hwy a waeddasant rhag ofn. Ac yn y man y llefarodd yr Iesu wrthynt, gan ddywedyd, Cymerwch gysur: myfi ydyw; nac ofnwch. A Phedr a’i hatebodd, ac a ddywedodd, O Arglwydd, os tydi yw, arch i mi ddyfod atat ar y dyfroedd. Ac efe a ddywedodd, Tyred. Ac wedi i Pedr ddisgyn o’r llong, efe a rodiodd ar y dyfroedd, i ddyfod at yr Iesu. Ond pan welodd ef y gwynt yn gryf, efe a ofnodd: a phan ddechreuodd suddo, efe a lefodd, gan ddywedyd, Arglwydd, cadw fi. Ac yn y man yr estynnodd yr Iesu ei law, ac a ymaflodd ynddo ef, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Tydi o ychydig ffydd, paham y petrusaist? A phan aethant hwy i mewn i’r llong, peidiodd y gwynt. A daeth y rhai oedd yn y llong, ac a’i haddolasant ef, gan ddywedyd, Yn wir Mab Duw ydwyt ti.
