The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle Schoolers

DAY 19 OF 28

Have you ever texted someone in a time of need only to have them not respond? Or tried to talk to someone about something weighing on your heart, but they wouldn’t listen or couldn’t understand? Not everyone that we look to will be able to give us the help we want or need. It’s not because they don’t care; it’s because they are human. Maybe you’ve tried to bottle everything in and decided to deal with it that way. Because of this, you might feel alone, forgotten, unloved, or sad. But Jesus, the Kid who came to the world thousands of years ago that first Christmas, is never too busy to answer your call.

He encourages you to pray, recognizes your needs, and wants you to put all your cares on Him. Recognizing that God is the only one who can deliver you from the worries and troubles of life helps you set your feet on a firm foundation. The Lord has always been there for us, and Jesus’ birth shows us just that.

Take a few minutes today to pray to God and be honest about your need for help. Remember, as you do that, because of Jesus, we can trust that God will always listen and respond.

About this Plan

The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle Schoolers
