Daily Bible Reading— September 2024, God’s Guiding Word: Wisdomنموونە
September 14
Introduction
Proverbs 18:1–24: Today’s reading includes advice on getting along with others and placing one’s trust in the LORD.
Today’s Key Verse: Proverbs 18:10
The LORD is like a strong tower, where the righteous can go and be safe.
Reflect
Reread verse 10. The LORD is often described as a fortress or tower offering safety and protection for the righteous (see Psalms 18:2; 30:7; 71:3; 91:2). What are your thoughts about what is stated in verse 11 regarding the rich relying on their wealth for protection? What other things are mentioned in this chapter that we often rely on? In what ways do you rely on God?
Pray
You, Lord God, are my protector and defender. You are my strong tower where I find safety in the shelter of your love. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Psalm 119.1–16: The opening of a psalm praising the law of the LORD.
