Understanding the Needs in India
Welcome to Day 1 of the Bible plan. Before we talk about counting the cost, let us focus on addressing the major needs in India.
Let’s delve into the statistics that highlight these needs and reflect on the urgency for change.
Key Statistics:
1. 90% of the Villages in India don't have churches: Consider the significant lack of Christian presence in rural areas and the implications this has for spreading the gospel.
2. 2,135 People in India have not heard the gospel: According to the Joshua Project, a considerable number of individuals in India remain unreached and have not had the opportunity to hear the message of salvation. It is sobering to realize that approximately 70,000 people die every day in the unreached world without hearing the Gospel.
3. Limited Bible translation: Despite the vast linguistic diversity in India with 1,600 mother tongues and 700 dialects, only 52 languages have a complete Bible translation. Reflect on the challenge this poses for effectively sharing the Scriptures with people in their own languages.
4. India has one-third of the world's unreached people groups: Contemplate the vast number of unreached people groups within India and the significance of reaching them with the gospel.
5. The Second Coming of Jesus - Matthew 24:14: Meditate on the verse in Matthew 24:14, which highlights the global proclamation of the gospel as a prerequisite for Christ's return. Consider the role we play in fulfilling this prophecy and the urgency to reach the unreached.
Change and the Cost:
Reaching the world comes at a cost; and Change is the cost that we must embrace.
Change is necessary to address these needs effectively.
It requires a shift in priorities, resources, and personal commitment.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to be agents of change and to actively participate in fulfilling the Great Commission.
It may involve redirecting resources, reevaluating ministry approaches, redesigning our lifestyles, and sacrificially investing ourselves in sharing the gospel.
Let us reflect on our role in facilitating change and reaching the unreached in India.
Take a moment to pray and ask God to help us understand these needs and guide us in taking appropriate action.
