The Big Questions About Jesus نموونە
Is Jesus Really the Only Way to God?
Let me answer this question: if what Jesus says is true, then he is the only way.
I know that’s not necessarily a popular thing to say in a pluralistic society that says whatever you believe is true is true for you. We need to consider this carefully. Some people who see themselves as spiritual say God sent Jesus and that he was a way to God, among many other ways.
There’s a big problem with this: it isn’t what Jesus claimed about himself. He was quite specific. He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He said this many times, and in many ways: he was the only way to God. His many claims about himself were exclusive.
Because of those statements, are you calling Jesus a liar or stupid if you say he was only one way to God, among many others? I know there’s a temptation in our modern society for believers to surrender to the idea that Jesus is not the only way to God and think there might be other ways. However, I don’t believe you can say Jesus is one of many ways to God and then think at the same time he has any moral authority.
Based on his claims, either Jesus is the only way to God, or he is nothing at all.
In saying this, I’m not claiming anyone is saved by belonging to a particular group or believing the same things. You can never put any limits on the love and mercy of God and on his ability to save. I’m sure there will be many surprises when we get to heaven. On the other hand, I can tell you this: everyone there will be solely because of Jesus and what he accomplished at the cross.
In our pluralistic society today, it’s common to accuse Christians who say that Jesus is the only way to God to be arrogant. It could only be arrogant if it weren’t true. If it’s a fact, it’s not arrogant to say it.
The Bible presents a different view. It teaches us that it’s not arrogant to believe Jesus is the only way to salvation; instead, it is the reason for a more humble attitude towards others. This is because there is no other way to be saved other than to trust in Jesus. We can’t do it ourselves. Everyone is saved the same way. It does not mean we know everything, but we do know Jesus is the only way to God.
