Love God Greatly: Jesus Our Everythingنموونە

As the Book of Hebrews comes to a close, the author brought to light a central point in the middle of final exhortations: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. In case we had drifted from the point or forgotten why he had written this book, we find this gentle reminder: it is all about Jesus.

Yesterday, today, and forever, Jesus Christ remains the same. No matter who our leaders may be, Jesus Christ is the same. After reminding his audience of the great leaders of the Old Testament, the author of Hebrews brought this truth to center: Jesus Christ is the same. 

No matter our circumstances, troubles, pain, or fear, Jesus Christ is the same. He has been with us through the hardship of the past and He will continue to be with us into the future. He does not change.

When our leaders fail, when our circumstances change, one thing remains: Jesus Christ. He suffered for us in the past, He represents us before God today as our High Priest, and He forever lives to intercede for us as our advocate. He will never change, and He will never leave us.

Jesus, thank You for never changing. In a world when the only reliable thing is change, I am overwhelmed by Your ability to remain the same. Help me remember that even though my circumstances change, You never change and Your love and care for me will also never change. Amen.
