Jesus' Call To Hurting People—Disciple Makers Series #12نموونە
Living dangerously; hearing but not obeying.
Thoughts on the message
When we hear God’s Word—and do nothing to change our lives, it is very dangerous. There are consequences for hearing so much and not doing anything. Jesus said that the judgment will be greater for those people.
What does that mean? I do not know exactly. However, the judgment for refusing to change and seek forgiveness from God is eternal judgment. Jesus is saying that there are layers of judgment that get worse for those who hear and see more—and still refuse.
Today, as we read this, think back to what we have heard from God’s Word. If God reminds us that we have not been obedient to His word, then stop—seek forgiveness for disobedience, turn around and walk in the truth of God’s Word.
Time to Pray
Father, You call me to repentance even today. Show me where I have been careless about obedience to Your Word. Show me where I listened, but I did nothing to be obedient. Show me where I let life get too busy to stop and repent. Show me… and then as I turn around, forgive me and help me walk in obedience. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.
