Psalms 62:1-3
Psalms 62:1-4 The Message (MSG)
God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, An impregnable castle: I’m set for life. How long will you gang up on me? How long will you run with the bullies? There’s nothing to you, any of you— rotten floorboards, worm-eaten rafters, Anthills plotting to bring down mountains, far gone in make-believe. You talk a good line, but every “blessing” breathes a curse.
Psalms 62:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: From him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? Ye shall be slain all of you: As a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
Psalms 62:1-3 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
Psalms 62:1-3 New Century Version (NCV)
I find rest in God; only he can save me. He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defender; I will not be defeated. How long will you attack someone? Will all of you kill that person? Who is like a leaning wall, like a fence ready to fall?
Psalms 62:1-3 American Standard Version (ASV)
My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
Psalms 62:1-3 New International Version (NIV)
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
Psalms 62:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)
Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
Psalms 62:1-3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For God alone my soul waits in silence; From Him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened. ¶How long will you attack a man So that you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
Psalms 62:1-3 New Living Translation (NLT)
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.
Psalms 62:1-3 The Passion Translation (TPT)
I stand silently to listen for the one I love, waiting as long as it takes for the Lord to rescue me. For God alone has become my Savior. He alone is my safe place; his wraparound presence always protects me. For he is my champion defender; there’s no risk of failure with God. So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me? But look at these who want me dead, shouting their vicious threats at me! The moment they discover my weakness, they all begin plotting to take me down.
Psalms 62:1-3 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
